Every residential project has different needs and priorities. Maybe you have small children, small pets, a busy travel schedule or all three and plan to reside in the space during construction. We work closely with you to map out a timeline and coordinate expectations that will fit your needs, your budget and your schedule. Our project managers work closely to navigate the many selections that can overwhelm even the most seasoned of clients.
BALANCE HOUSE
Creating a sleek modern home nestled inside this historically located Mt. Pleasant row house was a fun challenge. While needing to maintain the facade in the front, removing interior walls and, incorporating open steel and glass concepts the floors transformed into open light filled spaces.
With pets and a toddler, the clients admitted early on “we live hard on materials” which helped guide the selection process while still bringing the architect’s vision to life. Utilizing experience and alternative building methods we were able to redirect from costly underpinning and give the home the structural integrity it needed for the cantilevered 2nd floor overhang and the large new 3rd office/yoga studio.

LEGATION STREET
This growing family decided it was time to spruce things up and give their home some modern amenities. The owner/architect envisioned large, open and distinctive entertaining spaces each one nesting inside one another and opening fully to the rear yard. A wash of white, the kitchen contrasts nicely with the warmth of the custom wood wrapped dining room and cabinets with a concealed wine fridge. These in particular required high-end craftsmanship and attention to detail ensuring the wood grooves and grain would align from walls to cabinets and cabinet to cabinet. To complete the look we fabricated matching wood register covers that blend seamlessly into the walls. The detailed living room ceiling continues the visual line. Custom barn doors fabricated from 104 year old reclaimed floor joists and milled on site bring additional warmth to the clean open master suite. A basement storage room was revitalized into a cozy family room doubling as a guest suite, and part way through the base project the owners opted to add the renovation of a 2nd floor family bath completing the renovated space with a modern flare.

KITCHEN RESCUE
Not all contractors have an eye for quality, so when we arrived on the scene we found a client in distress and a kitchen with floors 2" out of level and walls 1" out of plumb. No cabinets would work under those conditions so we had to start over. Now there's a stunning functional kitchen with deep cabinets and loads of working space that opens up into a lush back yard perfect for entertaining!

PORTER STREET
The partial underpinning of an under-utilized basement created head hight and a lot more space for this growing family; with a laundry room, guest room and bath, family room, and the best surprise; found space under the front porch which converted into a wine cellar. We also created a customized wine rack with pull out bar and a 3-tier lazy suzan to capture a dead corner for plenty of pantry storage space.

MT. PLEASANT CARRIAGE HOUSE
When a Mt Pleasant couple decided to add an ADU (auxiliary dwelling unit) as a rental property for supplemental income to the back side of their property, taking down and converting the old alley adjacent garage was the go to solution. What was once a brick shell with dirt floor became an open and airy 2 bedroom / 2 bath living space flooded with natural sun light.
